On why this blog is called sleepless house.

Belle woke up at 9:30 last night, and didn’t fall asleep until 12:30. Then she woke up every 45 minutes, the rest of the night. And did she have the decency to sleep in? NO. And where is the angel you ask now? Asleep on the couch. What’s that you say? Go take a nap too? Well, unfortunately, I can’t sleep during the day. SO, I’m screwed. I am going to go and eat chocolate and gaze adoringly at the cutie who has caused me this distress

Oh!

Look at how beautiful my blog is! Many thanks to Kate, whom I suspect got no sleep last night, as she was working hard on it. I LOVE IT.

What the hell

Friday, January 28, 2005
ROCK HILL, S.C. – A police officer used a stun gun on a 75-year-old woman who became distraught when she could not locate a sick friend at a nursing home, according to an internal report.
Officer Hattie Jean Macon received a verbal warning and was required to attend a Taser retraining course after the investigation found she acted prematurely when she used the 50,000-volt Taser, according to the report released Thursday.
Macon was called to the nursing home after Margaret Kimbrell refused to leave. Kimbrell has said she was distraught after the staff would not disclose the location of her sick friend, and she became concerned the friend had died.
Kimbrell jerked away from the officer and swung her arm at Macon, according to a police report. The officer then fired the Taser, police said.
Kimbrell, who has claimed she did not swing her arms or threaten Macon, was charged with trespassing and resisting arrest. Her lawyer has said she will plead not guilty and may sue the department.

Under normal circumstances, you know where Belle is because she is always talking. When she gets quiet, I go looking for her, because she is usaully into something she shouldn’t be. Here she is, about to play with the phone and answering machine.

Tennis

The reason I like tennis is that the crowd is sometimes quiet. In football and baseball and soccer and basketball, they never shut up. Ten minutes watching any of those sports and I go into sensory overload. I also like tennis because there are easily definable rules and its easy to follow.
I like that there are 4 major tournaments a year, and you never know who is going to win. Just because you won Wimbledon, doesn’t mean you are the best at the Australian open. And yes, you get to be the defending champion for a year at that specific tournament, doesn’t mean you won’t get your ass kicked by the guy who you beat at the last tournament. Its a constant struggle.

Now, the thing I don’t like about tennis is sometimes the matches go on forever!
I like a nice simple ass kicking. For example: Federer vs. Roddick 2004 @ Wimbledon. Federer was flawless. I think that was the best match I’ve ever seen. There was nothing anyone could do about him. And don’t get me wrong, Roddick is a great player. I think he won at the US Open ( the next major tournament).
But usually, that doesn’t happen. Usually, the match goes on for 3 hours. I loose interest at about 1 hour, 15 minutes.
