Or nearly!
I had this cute crocheted black skirt that I loved very much. It was sleek and altogether lovely.
I took my jacket off as I walked into work this morning and my boss was all “what happened to your skirt?”
It had come unraveled- in the worst way possible- just across the right side of my butt.
So, considering the fact that the underskirt was very thin and the fact that I had 2 meetings with clients today I hightailed myself to Shopko which is right across the street from my office and bought a pair of jeans. Just plain boring but unholy blue jeans. I know, I know, Shopko? And I didn’t want to spend money on pants this morning. I only paid 15 for the jeans. So worst case scenario I can wear them for camping. Hardly glamorous but I am now at least decent.
Decent but mourning the loss of the magical black skirt.

Is there no way to have it fixed?
My aunt fixes all my knit/crochet needs.

I don’t know! I didn’t throw it away yet- I know I can’t fix it. I’ll take a picture and maybe someone who knows something about it can look at it?
I only paid like 5 bucks for it 2 years ago- it was on the clearance rack at Macy’s… So in terms of money I really got a lot of wear out of it. But I just really really like it!

It was like a Bridgette Jones moment!

Sound like that was a cute skirt.
I can sympathize – I had that type of thing happen with a pair of pants recently.

Damn! I have a thing for black crochet clothing items. I have a little black dress that is crochet over a thin black slip type thing. I’m too fat for it right now (and probably to old) but I get it out once in awhile and just look at it.

Oh yeah. And Finchstalker’s pants thing? I’m glad it didn’t happen while she was at work when that creepy guy was still working there. *shudder*

I work with all chicks so I have a little safety net.
