WE SIGN AT ELEVEN!

t- 15 hours or so

Our title company won’t make an appointment to sign papers until they have the loan docs.

The loan company promised they’d be there by 5.  OREGON TIME!

Bastards! Our title company closes at 4 Oregon time!

So our Realtor will call us first thing in the morning with the time to sign.

The other Realtor says as long as it’s signed, even if it doesn’t fund tomorrow, that we still get the keys.

WEEE!

Our Realtor kept apologizing but it’s not like it’s in his hands.

I told him to go home and have a beer.  He deserves one.

I haven’t heard from our loan officer since Monday?

I’m guessing this is good news and we are on track to close on Friday morning!?!

ROLLERCOASTER!

I’d say we are 90% packed up, not counting the kitchen :)

The things they never tell you about buying a house….

My loan officer and I were discussin closing costs, because the difference between 1800 and 3000 is QUITE SIGNIFICANT.

And since I make a joke of everything I asked him to get as close as he could to the amount “So I know how much to sell my child for.”

He didn’t think that was funny, but I was totally kidding!  He called back with an amount an hour later though, so all was well :)

The joys of buying a house

So we found out Monday that to qualify for the special Idaho loan thing we were doing that we BOTH had to take a 4 day class-NEXT WEEK! Which would have put off closing for another week or two.  Luckily they offer an online class- for 40 dollars more per person.

We bit the bullet (I did, anyway) and took the online class.  It was actually informative, but a bit too late for us!  I wrote down the answers to all the quizzes (which you could do multiple times until you got it right- I missed one once when I hit enter before I was ready:)) So last night, when Brian was turning in a final, Brian took the class.  It took him about ten minutes, and guess what!  He passed too!  When he got home, I told him he’d passed and he was proud of himself.  He’s such a good student, he doesn’t even have to be present for tests!

Still on track to close on the 22nd, unless they throw anything ELSE at us… :)

MOVING!

It’s finals week and Brian has mucho work to do, many papers to write, and his computer broke.

So he’s using mine, (which is actually ours, as the broken one is also ours)  Which means until he’s done writing his 2 final papers I’m in the land of NO COMPUTER AT HOME.  Which is fine because I’m actually packing.

For the move.

Which will, in theory, be starting to take place NEXT FRIDAY!

I told our realtor that I was taking a packed box, and the very moment I had keys I was driving over and PUTTING MY BOX OF STUFF IN MY HOUSE!  He laughs at me all the time, I think he thinks I’m mildly crazy but nice!  (He is actually married to Brian’s sister so in two months time he’ll be my brother in law!)

I’m beyond excited, I have to say :) !

After work, I plan on picking up Emma from school, picking up chinese takeout, and meeting Brian for a massive WEED PULLING OPERATION!

In other news:

I have bridal shoes. It took 5 hours. It was not fun.  But they are pretty and I love them and the are comfortable.

I am doing a cake tasting on the 19th!  I LOVE CAKE!

I meet the pastor to start hammering out the ceremony which at this point will run about 5 minutes INCLUDING processional and recessional. Everyone tells me this is really short and REALLY OK.  I feel like it’s too short.

Anyway!

I hope you had a Happy Mothers Day, celebrating the mothers around you, in your life.

In which she confesses to eating chocolate donuts for breakfast

I did, and I’m only slightly ashamed.

The inspection came back really good- only a few minor things, he says for a house that is 13 years old it has been well cared for.  The appraisal is tomorrow, and things continue to march on slowly… Hoping still to close on the 22nd!
