Another thing on my list!

I tasted cake on Tuesday.  I have to say, I had high expectations going into the cake tasting because whenever I said “Greg Marsh” everyone said “YUM!”

I was not disapointed. I was BLOWN AWAY.

Not only are his cakes beautiful- they are mouthwateringly scruptious! I want to eat more cake!

So

Top tier : Madagascar Vanilla cake with Raspberry filling! (my favorite!)

2nd tier: Dark Chocolate cake with Bavarian cream filling!

3rd tier: Chocolate chip espresso cake with chocolate mousse filling!

Bottom: Madagascar Vanilla with Raspberry filling!

YUM!

Christmas Recap

Christmas was awesome.  FREAKING AWESOME!

I got proposed to.  Did I mention that?  With a ring and everything.  AND I CAN’T FIND MY CAMERA!  Here is a picture from my camera phone:

We are tentatively talking about July 11th.

Brian surprised me- He’s been so grumpy about money etc, and we’d talked about waiting until after trial was done in January to get the ring etc…

He’d said he’d found some pretty earrings for me but I’d forgotten he’d told me that.  We’d opened presents first thing and I was so happy with everything I’d gotten.  I was sitting on the couch, and told him I was going to shower before we went to his parents house and he jumped up and said “I forgot one present!”  And came out with a gift bag with FISH on it.  I took out the tissue paper and there was a little white box and I said “Are these my earrings?” and then I opened it and saw it was a ring and started to sob.  I was(AM) so HAPPY!  I was laughing too.  And then he said (on one knee) “Nothing Witty, will you marry me?”  And I said “YES!”  and then cried some more.

I am SO happy.  If I had your cell number I texted you right away- sorry if I woke you up, I know it was early :)   I couldn’t contain my joy!

I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend, my soul mate and the most wonderful, sweetest, most honorable, HANDSOMEST man- who loves Emma and I with all his heart. We are so so lucky!

This Christmas was also two years to the day Brian told me he loved me for the first time (Did I mention he is romantic?)!  So yes. I love Christmas.  I love Brian!  We are happy!  Thank you so so much for everyone’s good wishes, they mean the world to us!

stupid comments

So I just read an article about divorce parties. And then I read the comments.
I hate comments- not from you guys- but on public forums.
Everyone is always so nasty and judgmental.
The general gist was:
- the women who had the parties were selfish bitches
- how dare you celebrate divorce, its sacred!
- how dare you celebrate a divorce, what about the kids?
- if you throw a divorce party you are narcissistic and the entire reason the marriage failed
- how dare you celebrate divorce, its sad
- how dare you celebrate a failure!
- ya, she’s celebrating cause she got everything!

Should I go on?

I wish I’d had a divorce party! I think its a great idea.

Did I get married thinking I could just leave? No.
Did I want a divorce? No.
Did the marriage fail? Yes.
Did I fail? NO
When I finally got the divorce did I feel like celebrating? Hell Yes.
Was I celebrating the failure? NO.
I was celebrating life- I was celebrating the fact that I’d walked away a better stronger person. I was triumphant in myself! And life was full of possibilities.
I had just had years of misery and I was celebrating the end of misery! I was celebrating the fact that I was okay and myself!
Why would a party to celebrate all of those good things that came out of it have been wrong?

If you’d like the read the article, HERE is the link.

Tradition

So Brian and Emma have this tradition where she rides on his back and they crawl around on the floor and chase me. When they catch me, they bite me (soft). And sometimes they sneak up on me (which involves loud whispering and much giggling and me pretending to be oblivious.)

Well, the other day as I was preparing dinner they came into the kitchen very quietly (I could hear Emma giggling as they came round the corner.) And then all the sudden, in his best STEVE Irwin voice, Brian cries:
“CRIKEY, ITS A MOTHER! LOOK AT HER! WHAT A BEAUTY!”

And then they came and bit me. And thats why I love him.
